Kenneth Earl (Butch) Lundberg, 72, of Gretna, Nebraska, passed away Feb. 21, 2025, at Methodist Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska, following complications from surgery.
Butch was born on Sept. 28, 1952, in Estherville, Iowa, to Kenneth and Dorothy (Clark) Lundberg. He attended grade school in Dakota City and graduated from South Sioux City High School with the class of 1970.
Butch and Inez Wilson were united in marriage on July 3, 1969. On Sept. 30, 1980 he married Cheryl Mandicino.
Butch worked as a chef in various establishments in the Tri-State area. He enjoyed watching baseball and other sports.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Cheryl Lundberg. Additional survivors include his children Amy Yeager, Ty Lundberg, and Domi Mandicino; three grandchildren, four great grandchildren; his siblings Jeanine (Jim) Bliven, Paul (Pat) Lundberg, Janell (Ken) Adams, and Joanne (Mike) Chedester; his sister-in-law Kathy (Danny) Lethcoe; and many nieces and nephews.
Butch was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, nephew Chris Harris and niece Mary McInnis.
A Celebration of Life is planned for Saturday, Sept. 6, from 2-4 p.m. at the Dakota City Fire Department.
