Howard Lynn Reed, born Jan. 1, 1958, passed away on March 13, 2025 at the age 67 years old. As per his wishes, he has been cremated. A refection of his life will be held at a later date.
Born in Sioux City, Iowa to Delphia Arlene (Simmons) Reed and Raymond James Reed, Jr., Howard married Gari Lynn Surber and to this 20-year union, Christopher Reed and Jesse Reed was born.
An avid hunter and fisherman, Howard enjoyed all things associated with the sports. He was a NASCAR and Green Bay Packers fan.
Howard could be as mean as a rattlesnake, as stubborn as a mule, and could party like a rock star in his younger years. As he grew older, his health declined from kidney disease, and mellowed with age, became sober, and could still be all those things, but much less. He liked flowers, butterflies, conversations with his sister, shooting guns, and the memory of his beloved dog, Whiskers.
Howard is survived by his son Christopher, his sister, Denise Reed Turner, and many other relatives. Thank you to Weston Dickey for being his Superman.
He died with no comfort or care medication in his home. Those responsible knew that.
