Weather permitting, work will begin next Monday, March 23 on Nebraska Highway 12 from Ponca to U.S. Highway 20, according to the Nebraska Department of Transportation.
Constructors, Inc., of Lincoln, is the contractor for this project. The bridge over Aowa Creek will be replaced in two phases, with two-way traffic maintained on 11-foot wide lanes. The remaining work of bridge rehabilitation, asphalt paving, street lighting, and culverts will be performed utilizing one-way traffic with flaggers or temporary traffic signals. Anticipated completion is June 2027.
Motorists are reminded to drive cautiously in and near work zones, to buckle up, and put phones down.
