The schedule is set for the postseason in high school volleyball as the Nebraska School Activities Association announced hosts and brackets for subdistrict play that begins Monday.
South Sioux City (13-8) will be the No. 3 seed in the B-1 district and will open the first round on the road against No. 2 seed Scottsbluff. While the game is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 29, a location and time is stil pending as of Thursday evening, according to South Sioux City athletic director Jeff Squier.
The winner of that game will advance to the finals on Saturday, Oct. 31, at Norris, who is the top seed.
Ponca (11-19) is the No. 2 seed for the C2-4 subdistrict at Laurel and will play No. 3-seed Omaha Nation at 5:45 p.m. The winner will likely play the top-seed Bears Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at LCC High School.
Homer (9-18) will be in the play-in round on Monday, Sept. 26 at top-seeded Stanton in the C2-5 subdistrict, facing Wisner-Pilger at 4:30 p.m. The winner will meet the top-seed Mustangs at 7:30 p.m., with the winner advancing to the subdistrict finals Thursday at 6:30 p.m.
Tri County Northeast (15-11) is the No. 2 seed for the D1-6 subdistrict at Bloomfield and will face No. 3 Hartington-Newcastle at 6 p.m. on Tuesday. The winner will likely see undefeated and top-seed Bloomfield in the subdistrict final on Thursday at 6 p.m.
Subdistrict winners and wild cards in C-2 and D-1 will advance to district final matchups on Saturday. The state tournament is Nov. 4-7 at Pinnacle Bank Arena in Lincoln.
