Beautiful sunny skies greeted more than 120 motorycle riders as they traversed across the Missouri River and made their way to Siouxland Freedom Park as part of the 11th annual Thunder on the Missouri event to honor America's fallen heroes.
Forecasts earlier in the week were calling for cool and wet conditions on Sunday, which may have had a hand in the number of bikes that made the trip, according to director Marty Hogan.
"We usually have about 200 bikes rolling and I think the weather forecast may have had some people changing their plans, but we did have a great turnout at the park with about 300 in attendance," he said Sunday evening.
About $10,000 was raised for Midwest Honor Flights, which will be flying a number of Siouxland-area veterans to Washington, D.C. later this year.
