South Sioux City Community Schools officials put the high school under lockdown Wednesday morning to investigate what turned out to be a false threat to the school.
School officials told the Dakota County Star that the high school was placed in lockdown status and the middle schools was in secure status at about 10:41 a.m. Wednesday as the school and local law enforcement investigated the threat.
The threat was investigated thoroughly and was determined not to be credible. The school’s status moved back to “all clear” and normal operations resumed.
“All students and staff are safe, and normal operations have resumed,” school officials announced. “We appreciate the swift response of our staff and the support of our law enforcement partners in ensuring the safety of our schools.”
