The City of South Sioux City was honored as a Tree City USA community for the 33rd time in the 49-year history of the award.
The announcement was made during Monday’s City Council meeting, and the city’s Tree Board also received a $15,000 donation from Midwest Energy that was presented during Monday’s City Council meeting.
The city planted 592 trees during the past year and spent $234,145 on tree management.
