South Sioux City Community Schools announced late Monday that Gray Peterson has been named the school’s new head football coach.
The Yankton, S.D., native recently graduated from Morningside Univeristy, where he played wide receiver for the Mustangs for three seasons. He was also a student assistant for the Mustangs.
Peterson takes over for Carson Dickerson, who stepped down earlier this month after three seasons. Dickerson was 12-15 as the Cardinals’ mentor, including back-to-back 5-4 seasons in 2023 and 2024.
