Local and state fire officials are investigating an early-morning fire at the Cimmarina Boats dealership in Dakota City.
The fire was reported at around 4:57 a.m. and crews from Dakota City, South Sioux City and Homer responded. A section of the roof collapsed as firemen battled the blaze at 1909 Broadway Street.
The fire is believed to have started in the repair room and workshop, according to Dakota City Fire Chief Clint Rasmussen. A boat that was in the room melted during the fire. There was heavy fire and heat damage in the building, with beams and trusses experiencing heavy damage. No injuries were reported.
The fire is currently under investigation by the Nebraska Fire Marshall’s Office.
