NORFOLK — The South Sioux City girls wrestlers overcame a first-round loss and finished 10th overall in the third-annual Nebraska Scholastic Wrestling Coaches Association Class A Duals tournament, held at the YMCA Fieldhouse.
The No. 9-seeded Lady Cards dropped their first match of the day to Omaha Bryan, 48-36. The back-and-forth dual came down to the final match, and Bryan’s Yulissa Ventura earned a third-period pin over Ngan Le to secure the dual win for the Lady Bears.
SSC bounced back with a 54-27 win over Norfolk JV, winning six matches and adding three forfeits. They outscored Omaha Buena Vista 47-36 and closed the day with another close match, falling to Blue River 42-39.
