HOMER — The annual Krumwiede Invitational at the Homer High School track Friday saw the host Knights put together some solid efforts.
The Homer boys won four events on their way to a third-place finish in a meet dominated by Fremont Bergan and Hartington Cedar Catholic teams.
Aayden Harris had a big day for the Knights, winning both the 110-meter and 300-meter hurdle events.
Freshman Jett Fogarty teamed up with Caden Barclay for a 1-3 finish in the 1,600-meter run, and the 1,600-meter relay ended the day with a winning effort.
In girls action, seniors Lilly Harris, Janessa Overgaard and Hannah Harris all came away with first-place efforts. Hannah Harris cracked the 100-foot mark with a winning throw in the discus,
Lilly Harris claimed top honors in the 3,200-meter run with Jaedyn Bousquet following in second, and Overgaard took top honors in the high jump to go with a third-place finish in the 200-meter dash.
