An escapee from the Community Corrections Center in Lincoln was apprehended in Dakota County over the weekend.
Alexander Gouge, 38, was reported missing on Thursday, Aug. 14 after failing to return to the corrections center in Lincoln after a job-seeking furlough.
Gouge is serving a sentence of 10-15 years for a fifth-offense refusing to submit to a test. He started the sentence on Aug. 31, 2021 and was housed at the Community Correction Center, which is the lowest custody level and least restrictive facility. Inmates there are allowed to participate in work opportunities, attend school or go to religious services with prior approval and without direct supervision.
Gouge was taken into custody by the Dakota County Sheriff’s Office on Sunday and was booked into the Dakota County Jail. He has since been transferred back to the Lincoln facility.
