South Sioux City firemen battled a garage fire Wednesday afternoon in the 600 block of Eighth Avenue.
According to a release from Chief Doug Koopman, a single-car detached garage was on fire and seven firemen battled the blaze for about 10 minutes, keeping the fire contained within the garage.
Nobody was injured in the fire. Damage was estimated at $10,000. The SSCFD was assisted by Nebraska Public Power District with securing power to the garage and the South Sioux City Police Department assisted with traffic control.
